Seagull Sonata

These are not birds
But ideas in my mind

Each clamouring
For attention

Asking to be fed
And wanting to soar

High into the
Open sky

Marathon Man

There are some who run
towards fame
Others who prefer to run
towards anonymity

There are some who run
into waiting arms of lovers
And some who run
far away from others

But what do you make of those
who are constantly
running away from
the demons within themselves

Planet Of The Apes

What do I say of
A species that undermines
The value of trees
It's hard to believe
Man is related to me

And sadder still to
See his arrogance
And greed
Bringing him down
To his knees

Childhood Law Number 1

Whenever I find
Attention to be
In short supply

All I have to do
Is let out my most
Anguished cry

A Study In Yellow

It's not in our job profile
To be staid and mellow

Like sunflowers proud
We wear our yellow

Guaranteed to cheer up
The grumpiest fellow

A Fellow Photographer

Here's a fellow tourist
Looking out for the perfect frame
Unaware that his casual walk
Prevents my composition
From being drab and plain

Why Boys Must Remain Boys

It's easy to bond when
We are one of a kind

And when you renounce
Every wordly possession,
The concept of desire

Where is the quarrel
Between what's yours
And what's mine?

Crooked Shadows

Follow me
Not my shadows
For I am as straight as the
Day I was born

While shadows tend to
Take the shape of the
Objects they fall upon

On Sharing

Look into my eyes
You'll see a hypnotic gaze
Warm and so caring

When actually all I am
Trying to do is guilt you
Into a human thing
Called sharing

Surround Sound

If you are calling me
Right now
I think you might have
To shout

If I'd be able to outshout
One crow, let alone a murder
Now that would be something
To crow about

Towering Heights

Hey, what kind of Bournvita
Your mom gives you guys

That stretches your legs by miles
Yet puts no muscle on your thighs

Battery Down

Doesn't it look like
I am powered by the sun

I started the day as a
Noisy brat looking for fun

But now that the sun has set
My energy levels are spent

And with this day, I think
I am quite done

Reflections Distorted

Your eyes are a reflection
Of mine
My eyes are a reflection
Of yours too

Then why is it that
In your eyes
My perspective looks
Twisted and a little untrue

Our Children's World

What words do we have
To soothe our children
Still unborn?

Can we look them
In their eyes

To tell them their world
Has very few flowers
And far too many thorns?

Chandelier Bling

What kind of a room is this
Where chandeliers bathe in
Sunlight peeking through a cloud

Where curtains provide that
Mysterious hint of doubt
And windows are turned inside out

Stubborn Eyes

Don't expect me to stand
Can't you see I'm morose?

Just shoot me from where you are
With a borrowed leg in frame

Who knows?
You just might get that
Unexpected pose

The Blur

Quick!
Every decision in life
Must be quick
It better be quick

Life tells the amateur

If you are unwilling to ride
And are happy to just
Stand by and watch

I'm sorry my friend,
I'm gonna be rushing by
In a blur

The Confrontation

Two ladies look
At each other
Daggers drawn

One suspects
The other of stealing
Her fish or pet mice

The other thinks her
Opponent may burgle
Some of her precious
Nine lives

The Estranged Couple

Not for us
The facade of a
Wedding band

Not for us the
Constant need
To wallow in mush

And just keep
Holding hands

The Rickshaw Puller

This isn't a job
That needs any kind of pull
(Well, not that kind of pull anyways)

Nor is it that kind of job
That needs a lot of push
(Well, not that kind of push anyways)

All I need for this job to go fine
Is for someone's butt to land on
These seats before I can get off mine
